Geneva and
Zurich airports prepare for return of passengers
Geneva and
Zurich airports are gearing up to restart.
Both
airports have been virtually dormant for the last several weeks, with only a
handful of flights every day.
But
passengers are expected to return from the 15th June as travel restrictions across
Europe are lifted.
The
airports have been installing plexiglass barriers at check in and security.
Hand sanitizer will be available and staff will be wearing masks – but
passengers won’t be forced to. Although airlines will have their own rules on
their aircraft.
Passengers
are also being asked to make use of automation as much as possible. Use
self-check-in, and use scanners for boarding passes.
The main
airlines at both airports – SWISS and easyJet – are preparing to restart
services. Neither will run a full service from day one but expect to ramp up
fairly quickly.
